Current events are a way to launch your research. By understanding a current event you can then research the historical roots of the event.

Don't forget to look beyond the front pages for current event stories that are not daily headline news.
These are sites that have news from countries all over the African continent. Most have a way to navigate to specific countries and/or a search function.
Try searching "news your country name" in Google. You'll get links to different news sites including the BBC, France24, and Aljazeera.
